Meet my persona

Overview

My persona is Lucius Aternius Calidus. Currently I mostly think of him as living in the early 3rd century CE in the Roman Empire. He’s usually referred to as Calidus, or occasionally as Apunchis. Apunchis is either an agnomen or just his father having wanted to share his culture and also give his kid a more Egyptian name to use (this is an excuse for name hoarding, lol). His father is a soldier who hails from Roman Egypt who was adopted by a patrician family that didn’t have any male heirs, and his mother is from a patrician family as well. He’s the oldest son of his family at 21 years old, and has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He would have received a solid education, given his family’s standing, including reading, writing math, and philosophy. He can speak Greek, Latin, and Coptic. He was born in Rome, but in his late teens, ran away to become a traveling merchant, since he didn’t want to become a politician like his father wanted. He believes in the gods, though he can’t help but identify with Prometheus despite Prometheus not being a common subject of worship and often being viewed negatively. He also feels connected to Hermes, due to being a merchant.

I also came up with more lore about Calidus's family (just characters I made, not representative of real SCA members) and maybe I'll put that on here at some point.
